Children on the Edge is honoured to be the nominated charity of choice for The Body Shop.
The Body Shop, like Children on the Edge was founded by the late Dame Anita Roddick.
In 2006 Barrie Thomas, Director of The Body Shop NZ, travelled to the Burma-Thai border with the
Children on the Edge UK team on an exploratory trip to see how The Body Shop New Zealand team
could assist. On his return it was obvious the project needed more than a small annual contribution
and instead required a long term commitment and the establishment of Children on the Edge NZ.
On his return Barrie instigated the development of Children on the Edge NZ, and The Body Shop
continues to support us providing administrational assistance, financial assistance and professional
assistance through The Body Shop staff.
Children on the Edge NZ is now the nominated charity of choice of The Body Shop NZ customer loyalty
programme, LOVE YOUR BODY, giving members the opportunity to contribute through the GIVE BACK
programme – 'GIVE BACK and it won’t cost you a cent'.
